Charles Allen III coordinates educational programs and acts as community liaison at the Center for Bioenvironmental Research (CBR), a joint project of Tulane and Xavier Universities. Since Katrina, CBR researchers and staff have focused on new research and outreach to rebuild and restore New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region. In addition, he is an Executive Committee member of the Healthy New Orleans (HNO): City that Cares partnership and a member of the Historic District Landmarks Commission. Charles was named recently to the Board of Directors for the U.S. Green Building Council. Today he also serves as President of the Holy Cross Neighborhood Association and was instrumental in launching their newest project, the Lower Ninth Ward Center for Sustainable Engagement & Development.
